VarStec capacitor banks provide reliable medium-voltage power factor correction and voltage support through fully integrated, metal-enclosed designs. VarStec Hybrid STATCOM solutions combine the speed of a STATCOM with the economy of switched capacitor or harmonic filter stages. The STATCOM delivers fast dynamic VARs for voltage sag mitigation, flicker control, voltage stability, and rapid system response, while the switched stages provide the slower, bulk steady-state VARs needed for power factor correction and long-duration support. This coordinated approach is well suited for sensitive facilities, weak grids, and plants with large motor starting demands, including plant-wide support for across-the-line motor starts. By blending fast and slow VAR resources into one system-fit solution, VarStec improves performance while lowering installed cost compared with an all-STATCOM solution.
MotorVAR™ provides fast, transient-free reactive power during large motor starts to help maintain voltage and preserve starting torque. Built as a fully integrated, metal-enclosed system, it offers a simpler and more maintainable alternative to VFD- and RVSS-based starting approaches for large medium-voltage motors.
